Grandparents’ Day
Today, we welcomed more than 100 grandparents and many parents who accompanied them to our school and many more online who joined our live streaming sessions, to celebrate the Grandparents’ Day. It was touching to see how much the grandparents enjoyed visiting their grandchild’s class and meeting their teachers and friends, and then enjoying a nice lunch and a concert. In the morning, our Head Boy and Head Girl gave a speech to open the event and together with grandparents planted hydrangea flowers in the school’s garden to commemorate grandparents who are not around any longer. The grandparents then spent two lessons in their grandchild’s class, followed by a lovely buffet lunch and a concert. The day finished with a prize draw, free ice cream, and getting an instant Polaroid photo taken with their grandchild. It was great to see Renaissance community coming together for such a lovely family event, and those grandparents who could not attend the event were able to watch the concert live on Facebook and enjoyed a video message from their grandchild’s class.
