Welcome Message from the Head of School

Greetings and welcome to Renaissance School, HCMC! As both parent and Head of Renaissance, I am happy and proud to introduce you to this unique institution and to showcase some of its key features.

Founded in 2007, Renaissance provides a high quality international education across the range of Early Years to Key Stage 5, culminating in the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma in Years 12 and 13, recognized internationally as the gold standard of KS5 education. We are also currently working towards accreditation in both the PYP and the MYP which, once realized, will make Renaissance one of very few full-continuum IB World Schools. At Renaissance, we develop people. Not only academic excellence but excellence in general is what we focus on: excellent inter-personal relationships; excellence of expectations and aspirations; excellent facilities; and an excellent working atmosphere in which both students and faculty can feel safe, happy and free to give their all.

This focus on a broader definition of excellence has resulted in academic results which are consistently well-above the IB world average, and all our students benefit from small class sizes and the school’s rich co-curricular programmes which ensure that meaningful learning continues outside the classroom. Full accreditation by the internationally-prestigious Council of International Schools is a great testimony to the school’s quality across the board. It reflects
the strong commitment to its mission, the value placed on student welfare and well-being and to the international understanding which underpins our school culture and ethos. It also signifies the dedication of the school’s Board, faculty and staff to ongoing improvement and to ensuring that Renaissance is constantly striving to do better across all areas of its operations; at our school, despite how well something is going, we all have very clear that everything and everyone can be improved. Again, high expectations of others and of ourselves inform our daily lives here.

Ours is a very special community and whether success is found in the classroom or beyond, Renaissance helps all students unlock their true potential in an environment where every child is unique, every child is encouraged and every student is fully supported. This is a school in which no child is invisible; everyone here is seen, heard and known and the strong school-family relationships and supportive, familiar, open atmosphere make for a happy and welcoming place to be.
